SOCIAL Mills

Pune, India

8000 sq,ft.

The Mills is an adaptive reuse project that transforms an industrial relic into a thriving social space. The intervention retains the raw, historic character of the original structure, celebrating its aged textures and robust materiality while introducing contemporary elements that enhance functionality and ambiance.

The stepped up amphitheatresque spatial planning encourages seamless movement, blurring boundaries between different zones through open layouts and visual transparency. By layering industrial aesthetics with warm, tactile materials like reclaimed wood, metal, and exposed brick, the design establishes a compelling dialogue between the past and the present.

Strategic lighting, bold graphic elements, and curated furniture pieces further enrich the space, ensuring an engaging and dynamic user experience. The result is a venue that honors the site’s legacy while fostering a fresh, inviting atmosphere that aligns with the evolving urban landscape of Pune.
