Animal Crematorium
Shivaji Park, Mumbai, India
2,000 s.ft.
A deeply sensitive and dignified intervention, the Animal Crematorium in Mumbai is designed as a space of reflection and closure. Moving away from sterile, institutional aesthetics, the design fosters a serene, contemplative atmosphere through natural materials and soft, diffused lighting.
The architecture incorporates quiet alcoves, landscaped courtyards, and water elements to create a soothing environment where pet owners can process their emotions. The layout is carefully orchestrated to ensure a gentle transition between spaces, guiding visitors through a journey of remembrance. Subtle details—like memorial walls, seating integrated with nature, and the interplay of light and shadow—enhance the experience, making it a place that honors the profound human-animal connection.
This project redefines the way we say goodbye, offering a farewell that is as thoughtful as the companionship it commemorates.
